During the pandemic, I got into the habit of going for hour long morning walks. One day I reached a street corner where the residents had created a sort of shrine for this old dilapidated chair.
Various objects had been lovingly placed on and around the chair. The next time I walked to the chair, I found a different combination of objects. The third time I walked to it, an image started developing in my mind. I wanted to elevate the sacredness of this chair to greater heights, both metaphorically and physically. And so I did!
The mountain range in the background is Yosemite National Park, which I visited and photographed in 2007.
