This little corner appeared to be the watering hole for a number of locals, thus the name. It could have also been called Couch 2.0, after Alley 147’s couch, but someone had torched the love seat here so I don’t think it was officially a couch any more.
Danny Wolverton (aka “Special Head” of Americas Got Talent fame) was with me and recorded the whole exploration and shoot. I’m eager to see what he does with it!
Florida Museum of Photographic Arts
VAIVEN: Six Visual Journeys between Spain and the US October 2 – November 30, 2015 400 N. Ashley Drive, Tampa, FL
My travelling group show, VAIVEN, opens in Tampa’s Florida Museum of Photographic Arts this Friday. The show began in Washington DC in Nov 2013 and traveled to NYC, then Albuquerque. The exhibition features six photographers from Spain and the U.S. who interpret the realities of both countries from multiple perspectives, creating a visual round trip. It has had a very successful run so far, being featured in over a dozen press stories nationally and internationally, including the Washington Post.
Artist Lecture and cocktails: November 6 at 7pm I’ll be giving a talk at the museum, providing a retrospective of the Alleys and Ruins series. If you are in the area, please drop by!
45th Annual Pilsen East Artists’ Open House
