I paddled through dense green waters, and drifted along turquoise blue streams. Through fields of wildflower, I floated as if in a dream.
Glittering, the sun's rays broke through the thick forest canopy.
And as the sun was setting and the air cooled, a thunderous storm approached.
Beyond the mangroves, a clearing appeared and I walked through it, leaving my raft behind.
Night had arrived but I marched on. Through the lightning and thunder I wove my way past the dense growth toward a golden light.
I squeezed around the Buttonwood bushes and stood before a glowing gem. A magical oasis had appeared and I was thirsty.

I sometimes fantasize that with the snap of a finger, I can escape reality ... in a moment, be transported to a dream world free of life's demands, a child's playground where magic exists and all is right with the world.My Light Paintings are that portal. Through them I can transcend reality and escape into these beautiful, vibrant yet peaceful realms.

Although there is some digital manipulation in this series, the unusual lighting and surreal quality in the Light Painting series is achieved by using colored lights during long exposures. They are not digital effects.
