I just found my Brain Worm mascot. I shot this in 1985 during a Montreal winter cold snap - I’m thinking -30 C / -22 F.

For years I wanted to do a whole series of close up frost pictures. I know there would be a whole glorious world to discover in the beautiful intricacies of frost! I did some rough planning back then in order to get the many frosted windowpanes that I needed to explore for the series, but the plans ended there. At least I have my worm! The golden light was from a magnificent setting sun; the grid was from a mesh over the window that I was shooting through.
